Classes  »  Class 4 - Mrs Siddall

Anti-Bullying Week
As part of our Anti-Bullying Week work, we produced posters including Bible verses that teach us about how to treat others.

World War II Day
Class 4 enjoyed lots of activities on our whole school World War II Day, including creating timelines of key events, sharing family connections and experiences, and writing poetry about the Blitz.

Literacy
We have studied and analysed a range of poems by Christina Rossetti.  We then looked at different types of descriptive language that we could use in our own poems to create images.

RE
After reading and exploring the story of Creation, we wrote our own poems and prayers celebrating God’s creation.  We are also planning some group liturgies giving thanks for God’s creation, which we will deliver to the rest of the class.

Class Charity – The Donkey Sanctuary

Class 4’s chosen charity this year is The Donkey Sanctuary.  The Donkey Sanctuary was founded in 1969 by Dr Elisabeth Svendsen, MBE.
Not only does The Donkey Sanctuary aim to transform the quality of life for donkeys and mules worldwide, but they also provide donkey assisted therapy for children and adults with additional needs and therapeutic visits to care homes in the local community from centres around the UK.

Class 4 will be raising money for The Donkey Sanctuary throughout the year.  We have a collection box in class so that the children can make donations and we will also be holding a fundraising day in the spring term (more information to follow!).

In the meantime, we have already made a donation to The Donkey Sanctuary by adopting our very own donkey for a year!  Our adopted donkey is called William D and he lives at the Leeds centre.  If you would like to find out more about The Donkey Sanctuary and William D, please have a look at the website links below.
